Volunteer Service Work and Touring Costa Rica's Rainforest

Have you ever dreamed of service volunteering at an eco-centered school and then combining it with touring a magnificent rainforest? Then join Renbrook Summer Adventure as we travel to Costa Rica to live and volunteer at El Centro de Educacion Creativa (CEC, www.cloudforestschool.org) deep in the Central American rainforest.

We will spend 5 days training and planning in CT, then depart for ~14 days in Costa Rica. The CEC (pre-school to Grade 11ócompletes high school) sits on 106 acres in the heart of the Cloud Forest and is actively replanting and reclaiming sections of the campus cleared for farming in the past. The School's mission focuses to inspire and educate students to take an active and caring interest in conservation and sustainability of the world around them.

Join us as we perform volunteer work at the school, homestay with a CEC pre-qualified family, and become immersed in the culture and people of the Monteverde Cloud Forest. Many area activities are planned including the famous zip-lining through the forest canopy, mountain biking, Spanish lessons, horseback riding, orchid/butterfly/insect house visits to name a few options open to us.  A more detailed trip itinerary is available through the camp office, along with an application to qualify for trip consideration.

A $500 deposit is required once the applicant is accepted for this trip. Priority will be given to campers going into the ninth and tenth grade.
