Adventure Trips (Grades 7 - 10)
One or more trips from our successful Senior Trip program may be added after a session of camp or as part of Session I or Session II. Trips may also be selected without attending camp sessions.
Morning Mountain Biking
This is an excellent introductory mountain bike program for those interested in trying new experiences. The trip is great for experienced trail riders, or those with a solid foundation of road experience, wanting to try the off road aspect. Campers will gain confidence by riding their bikes over varying terrain and different conditions.
Each week the campers on the Mountain Bike Trip will leave campus at 9:00 a.m. and return at noon Monday - Friday.
Price:
$250 ($75 if attending camp Session II)
Dates:
July 18 - 22
Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking
Start at the very beginning of white water paddling in a safe and fun environment. This five-day program will teach the basics of white water paddling. Held on the upper section of the Farmington River - Tariffville, students will learn wet exits with spray skirts, how to scout and read a river, swift water safety basics, whitewater strokes and paddle manipulation, and, ultimately, the skills necessary to run Class III rapids. We will be training on Class I & II rapids.
Price:
$495 ($225 if also attending Session I)
Dates:
July 11 - 15
Beginning Canoe/Kayak
For campers who would like to learn the basics of canoeing and/or kayaking. Trips earlier in the week will be on flat water on the Farmington River, but once the campers have developed their basic handling skills, our trips will take us to some faster moving water.
Price:
$495 ($225 if also attending Session I)
Dates:
June 27 - July 1
