Horseback Riding

We are enthusiastic about offering our campers small group riding lessons at Avon Valley Show Stables located just 5 miles from Renbrook.   A large barn and indoor riding ring, air conditioned classroom, outdoor riding rings and paddocks, and 30 acres of trails will give campers an excellent facility for lessons.

The riding instruction will give both the beginning and experienced rider a quality lesson within a safe, intimate, and caring atmosphere. When campers are not riding, they will have mini-classes in horsemanship and grooming. Campers will travel by bus or van. The groups are limited to 12 campers per session.

Afternoon Lessons - Beginner to Advanced Riders (Grades 3 - 10)
Riding instructors will teach basic riding skills at beginning and advanced levels. Campers will have lessons Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons. Leaving at 12:30 P.M. campers will usually return by 3:00 P.M. for a quick swim. Horseback riding will be the camper's Free Choice selection plus one hour of camp activities, but they will not miss their morning swimming lesson.

Morning Lessons - Beginner to Advanced Riders (Grades 5 - 10)
This pogram is designed for the Senior Campers in grades 7-10 with beginner to advanced riding ability or for the more advanced riders in other grades. On Monday/Wednesday/Friday campers will leave Renbrook from 9:00 A.M. to noon. For Senior Campers, Riding will become their Major Activity Selection. The group will return in time for swimming, lunch and Free Choice.
